CarbonCX is a recognized registry. We register all credits we process on the blockchain for open public viewing. CarbonCX is the world’s first fully digital carbon credit solution, encompassing data collection, processing, validation, credit registration, credit marketing, and sale on digital carbon markets. With our ‘digital first’ approach, our goal is to become the digital registry of record for carbon credits worldwide.
CarbonCX credits are registered on our CCX branch of the Polygon Blockchain.
Methodologies or protocols are inherently in the public domain. They provide a valuable understanding of how specific efforts can help reduce carbon emissions, how to calculate those reductions, and under what conditions. CarbonCX uses the public library of available methodologies for our customers and their projects.Where possible, CarbonCX utilizes existing available methodologies. Where methodologies don’t exist, our team can also develop new protocols curated for the specific business and project at hand.
If an existing methodology is directly applicable to your project, we will calculate emissions and net CO2e reductions in accordance with the exact specifications of the applied methodology. If an existing methodology does not accurately represent your project, we will work with you to determine how your project reduces carbon emissions and quantify the amount.
Get in touch with us and we can work with you to determine if your project is directly represented using a current public methodology, or if we need to work together to create a specific methodology for your use case.
CarbonCX verifies some data ourselves, but we also work with independent carbon accounting firms to ensure we have a complete and accurate picture of how a project is reducing CO2e.
Yes, CarbonCX can work with a variety of independent firms to help verify emissions reductions data.
CarbonCX costs will only cover the work our team provides, directly. If CarbonCX is involved in the verification process, our team will bill accordingly based on the requirements. If a third-party independent auditing firm is required for complete verification, costs associated will be determined on a per-project basis.
If the project has already collected data, we can often progress from initial contact to credit registration in as little as 90 days.
CarbonCX believes in open and transparent markets to ascribe value to credits generated. We work with partners to validate their carbon emissions and generate credits that can then be either retired or pushed to our digital carbon credit market partners for transparent open-market price discovery and sale.
The purchaser of credits varies. CarbonCX does not broker the sale of credits on behalf of our customers and prefers that all marketing and sales occur on digital carbon marketplaces, where prices are transparent and commoditized through price discovery. Transactional data will be written to the blockchain to prove chain-of-custody and carbon credit integrity and permanence.
No. CarbonCX does not broker the sale of credits on behalf of our customers.
CarbonCX bills for services rendered. This includes the cost of creating the carbon credit, recording it to the public blockchain and on-going data storage costs to maintain the visibility of any unretired credits.
CarbonCX works with our customers to either find an existing methodology or develop a new one, specifically tailored to their project. If we can do this with demonstrated third-party auditing, we will issue the credits. CarbonCX wants to encourage greater participation in carbon reduction efforts, technologies, and markets. We work with customers to determine if their projects are eligible for the generation of CarbonCX Digital Carbon Credits and what the process will entail.
CarbonCX does not broker the sale of credits on behalf of our customers. If CarbonCX has negotiated to participate in a portion of the sale price of the credits themselves, we assume the risk right alongside our customers.
CarbonCX has a detailed onboarding process that includes, but is not limited to:
- A Mutual Non-disclosure Agreement (MNDA)
- CarbonCX Services Contract
- CarbonCX Residuals Contract
- Various Affidavits of Proof
- Various Customer Disclosures
CarbonCX has worked on projects all over the world to register carbon emissions reductions. If you would like to learn more about a specific region, please get in touch with us and we can review it together.
While some regions are more difficult to work in than others, our goal is to help aid in the globalized commoditization of carbon emissions reductions. CarbonCX purposefully uses tools that are immutable and transparent to the public. Each of our credits includes key data on exactly how the credit was generated with, where possible, direct telemetry data showing the generation of the emissions reduction, as well as third-party verification from globally recognized independent auditors. Carbon emissions are a global problem. Carbon emissions do not respect international borders or boundaries, and we aim to make our registry the record-of-truth for use across the globe.
Get in touch with us and we can begin the process of working with you to find out, together.
This often depends on the project and methodology used. Our team will work with you to determine exactly what data we need, both for auditing and carbon credit registration purposes. Wherever possible, CarbonCX aims to collect telemetry data directly from the source, with little to no human intervention, to ensure data integrity.
